We are looking for a Certified Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing, treating, and caring for patients with breathing disorders or cardiopulmonary problems. You will work under the direction of a physician to administer respiratory care and life support to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities in their cardiopulmonary system. This includes diagnosing lung and breathing disorders and recommending treatment methods. You will also interview patients and do chest physical exams to determine what kind of therapy is best for their condition and monitor patient's physiological responses to therapy such as arterial blood gases, vital signs or blood chemistry, and lung function changes. You will also be responsible for educating patients and their families about their conditions and teaching appropriate disease management techniques.

  • Interview and examine patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders
  • Consult with physicians to develop patient treatment plans
  • Perform diagnostic tests such as measuring lung capacity
  • Treat patients by using a variety of methods, including chest physiotherapy and aerosol medications
  • Monitor and record the progress of treatment
  • Supervise respiratory therapy technicians during tests and evaluate the findings of the tests
  • Teach patients how to use treatments

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy or a related field
  • Certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • State license to practice respiratory therapy
  • CPR certification
  • Experience with mechanical ventilation and non-invasive ventilation
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work in a high-stress environment
