- Several years of experience in emergency management or public safety.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.

- Understanding of federal, state, and local emergency management programs.
- Ability to coordinate with various agencies and organizations during a crisis.
- Certification from the International Association of Emergency Managers is preferred.
