We are looking for a reliable and observant Night Watchman to help protect our property, assets, employees, visitors, and operations during overnight hours. This role is essential for maintaining a safe, secure, and orderly environment when regular business activity is limited and fewer staff members are present. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, attentive to detail, and capable of responding appropriately to unusual situations, emergencies, and security concerns.
As a Night Watchman, you will patrol buildings, grounds, entrances, exits, parking areas, and other designated locations to deter theft, vandalism, trespassing, and unsafe behavior. You will monitor surveillance systems, inspect doors and windows, verify that restricted areas remain secure, and document any incidents, hazards, or suspicious activity. This position requires a strong sense of responsibility, good judgment, and the ability to work independently for extended periods, often in quiet or low-traffic conditions.
You will also play an important role in emergency preparedness and response. In the event of alarms, disturbances, medical incidents, fire risks, or unauthorized access, you will be expected to follow established procedures, contact emergency services when necessary, and communicate clearly with supervisors or designated contacts. Maintaining accurate logs and reports is a key part of the role, as these records support operational continuity, compliance, and future investigations if needed.
Successful candidates are dependable, punctual, and physically capable of walking, standing, climbing stairs, and performing routine inspections throughout a shift. Professionalism and discretion are especially important, since you may encounter confidential areas, sensitive information, or vulnerable individuals. A courteous and respectful approach is also necessary when interacting with staff, contractors, residents, guests, or law enforcement personnel.
This position may be based in commercial buildings, residential communities, warehouses, schools, hotels, hospitals, construction sites, or public facilities. Work schedules typically include nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime depending on operational needs. Previous experience in security, facility monitoring, or protective services is helpful, but candidates with strong awareness, integrity, and a willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply.
If you take pride in keeping environments safe and secure, remain alert during overnight hours, and can be trusted to act responsibly with minimal supervision, this role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution. The Night Watchman serves as a visible and dependable presence, helping ensure that people and property remain protected until daytime operations resume.
