We are looking for a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for helping patients improve their ability to perform tasks in their daily living and working environments. They will work with patients who have conditions that are mentally, physically, developmentally, or emotionally disabling. They will also help patients to develop, recover, or maintain daily living and work skills. The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for not only improving the basic motor functions and reasoning abilities of the patient, but also to compensate for permanent loss of function with the goal to help patients have independent, productive, and satisfying lives.

  • Assess the patient's condition and needs
  • Develop a treatment plan for patients
  • Help patients to improve their basic motor functions and reasoning abilities
  • Assist patients in their activities of daily living
  • Educate patient's family about how to accommodate and care for the patient
  • Recommend special equipment, such as wheelchairs and eating aids, and instruct patients on how to use that equipment
  • Assess and record patients' activities and progress for patient evaluations
  • Provide patients with the correct therapeutic exercises
  • Evaluate a patient's home or workplace and, based on the patient's health needs, identify potential improvements
  • Research the latest treatment options to ensure the best possible care for patients

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Proven working experience as occupational therapist
  • Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of occupational therapy
  • Hands on experience with computer programs and creative media
  • Familiarity with ADLs evaluation tools ( e.g. Katz ADL scale, Lawton IADL scale)
  • Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities
  • Current knowledge of treatment practices
  • Drive to continually learn and grow
