We are looking for an Oncological Surgeon to join a medical team responsible for comprehensive diagnosis, treatment planning, and surgical care for patients with cancer. The person in this role will play a critical part in guiding patients through every stage of surgical oncology care, from preoperative assessment and qualification for surgery to performing procedures and overseeing postoperative recovery. This position requires strong clinical judgment, advanced surgical expertise, and a deep understanding of current oncology treatment standards.
The Oncological Surgeon will work closely with a multidisciplinary team that may include medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, anesthesiologists, nurses, and rehabilitation specialists. The goal of this collaboration is to ensure that each patient receives a personalized, safe, and effective treatment plan aligned with current medical evidence and institutional protocols. The ideal candidate should demonstrate empathy, resilience, and the ability to communicate clearly with patients and their families, especially when discussing complex diagnoses, treatment options, and surgical risks.
Key duties in this role include evaluating surgical eligibility, performing oncological procedures, participating in tumor board discussions, and monitoring treatment outcomes. The surgeon will also be expected to maintain accurate medical records, follow patient safety procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement in clinical pathways and quality of care. Depending on the organization, the role may involve open surgery, minimally invasive techniques, reconstructive procedures, or participation in combined modality treatment plans.
The successful candidate will hold specialist qualifications in surgical oncology or equivalent credentials that support practice in this field, along with hands-on experience treating oncology patients in a hospital setting. We value commitment to professional development, willingness to participate in training, conferences, and research initiatives, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment guided by high ethical standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who wants to make a meaningful impact on cancer treatment outcomes by delivering expert surgical care and supporting patients through one of the most challenging periods of their lives.
