We are looking for a Production Dramaturg to join our creative team and play a pivotal role in the development and realization of theatrical productions. The Production Dramaturg serves as a bridge between the creative vision of the director, the intentions of the playwright, and the understanding of the audience. This position involves in-depth research, script analysis, and collaboration with directors, designers, and actors to ensure the integrity and clarity of the production. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in theatre studies, excellent research and communication skills, and a passion for storytelling. Responsibilities include providing historical, cultural, and thematic context for scripts; preparing program notes and educational materials; facilitating discussions and talkbacks; and supporting the rehearsal process with dramaturgical insights. The Production Dramaturg will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of script changes, offering feedback on script development, and ensuring that the production remains true to its artistic vision. This role requires a keen eye for detail, the ability to synthesize complex information, and a collaborative spirit. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, creative environment and will demonstrate a commitment to fostering inclusive and engaging theatrical experiences for diverse audiences. Previous experience in dramaturgy, script development, or theatre education is highly desirable.
