We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Team Physician to join our sports organization. The Team Physician will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to athletes, including injury prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. This role requires collaboration with coaches, athletic trainers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the optimal health and performance of all team members. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sports medicine, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make quick, informed decisions in high-pressure situations.
As a Team Physician, you will attend practices, games, and events to provide immediate medical attention when necessary. You will conduct pre-participation physical examinations, develop injury prevention programs, and oversee the management of both acute and chronic injuries. The Team Physician will also be responsible for coordinating care with specialists, maintaining accurate medical records, and ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
In addition to clinical duties, the Team Physician will educate athletes and staff on topics such as nutrition, hydration, concussion management, and safe training practices. You will play a key role in developing return-to-play protocols and monitoring the recovery process to minimize the risk of re-injury. The position requires flexibility, as travel with the team and irregular hours are often necessary.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethical medical practice, confidentiality, and the well-being of athletes. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and possess strong problem-solving abilities. Previous experience working with sports teams or in a similar capacity is highly desirable.
