The successful candidate will be responsible for researching, writing, capturing visual content and editing stories for multiple platforms. You will be expected to produce daily content on a variety of platforms including the internet, social networking sites and mobile phones, in addition to television. You must be a strong storyteller who can produce engaging and informative news stories. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. You should be able to work independently, but also collaborate effectively with a team. You should have a strong understanding of journalistic ethics and libel laws. You should be comfortable appearing on camera and have a good on-air presence. You should be able to develop contacts and sources for news stories. You should be able to generate story ideas and pitch them to producers. You should be able to shoot, write and edit your own stories. You should be able to cover live news events and conduct live interviews. You should be able to use social media effectively to promote your stories and interact with viewers. You should be able to work a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends and holidays.
