We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Vascular Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. The goal is to assist physicians in the diagnosis of diseases by providing accurate and timely diagnostic information. The Vascular Ultrasound Technologist will be responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography, managing the sonographic laboratory, patient scheduling, equipment maintenance, quality assessment, safety, and quality improvement. The candidate must be able to work independently, have excellent communication skills, and be able to work under high pressure.

  • Perform diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure.
  • Operate sonographic equipment effectively.
  • Perform routine and complex studies and assist in a variety of imaging procedures.
  • Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations.
  • Coordinate with other staff to assure appropriate patient care.
  • Maintain patient records and add medical notes related to the ultrasound procedure.
  • Ensure the content and quality of the report for ultrasound tests.
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and work area, and maintain adequate supplies.
  • Perform quality control checks on the equipment to ensure it is working properly.
  • Provide compassionate patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) is required.
  • Active certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in the specialty(ies) as appropriate.
  • Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty(ies) as appropriate.
  • Proven experience as a Vascular Ultrasound Technologist.
  • Excellent patient service skills and communication skills.
  • Ability to work long hours and on-call.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to use hospital's database software.
  • Excellent technical and time-management skills.
  • Ability to operate and understand sonographic equipment.
  • Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting.
