- Knowledge of potential attack vectors such as XSS, injection, hijacking, social engineering, and so on
- Proficiency in firewalls, VPNs, Virus protection software and IDS/IPS software
- Understanding of patch management with the ability to deploy patches in a timely manner
- Professional security management certification, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or other similar credentials
- Experience with security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS)
- Experience in building and maintaining security systems
- Detailed technical knowledge of database and operating system security
