We are looking for an experienced and dedicated IT Architect to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing information systems that will meet or exceed the needs of our organization. You will work closely with our IT team to manage the data and network security of our systems. You will also be responsible for creating and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks. In addition, you will be tasked with installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP. You will also be responsible for designing and implementing new server systems and planning for and responding to service outages and other problems. Other duties will include scripting or light programming, project management for systems-related projects, supervising or training network technicians, and consulting with vendors and clients to specify system requirements and design solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or Computer Science
  • Proven experience in a network administrator role
  • Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching
  • Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
  • Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired
  • Ability to set up and configure server hardware
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
  • Great at organising, prioritising and multitasking
  • Juniper, Cisco, CWNA or BCNE training
  • Professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA))
