We are looking for a detail-oriented and self-motivated Purchasing Assistant to support our purchasing department. The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for learning company purchasing policies and procedures, and maintaining supply inventory levels required for effective company operation. The successful candidate will also be charged with conducting regular price comparisons to ensure that the company is always getting the best price for each product that is purchased. You will be working closely with the Purchasing Manager and other team members to complete duties such as preparing purchase orders, supporting the bidding process, maintaining supplier relationships, and tracking deliveries. The Purchasing Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining accurate purchase records and conducting cost analyses.

  • Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and to departments originating requests.
  • Determine if inventory quantities are sufficient for needs, ordering more materials when necessary.
  • Respond to supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.
