We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Resource Room Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with various types of disabilities, tailoring and modifying curriculum to meet individual student needs, and creating a nurturing and safe learning environment. The Resource Room Teacher will also collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to create individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.   • Assess students' abilities and craft teaching plans
  • Adapt learning materials to students' needs
  • Keep track of and reflect on students’ progress
  • Monitor children’s behavioral patterns and arrange appropriate interventions if needed

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher or similar role
  • Working knowledge of various disabilities
  • Experience implementing IEPs
  • Excellent understanding of teaching and learning methods
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate and patient personality
  • BSc/BA in Special Education; MSc/MA is a plus
  • Valid state special education teacher certification
  • First aid and CPR certification
  • Ability to lift and assist students physically
